In addition to several Cabinet nominations, this week the Corbett/Cawley administration announced the appointment of Steve Aichele, a partner with Saul Ewing LLC, to the post of General Counsel to the Commonwealth.
A highly regarded real estate attorney, Steve Aichele is Chairman of Saul Ewing and of the firm’s Project and Resource Development Department. He also chairs Saul Ewing’s Government Involvement Committee. During his career, Aichele has represented major developers, lenders, and governmental entities in land use, zoning, development, financing, construction, and leasing. He has participated in the acquisition, development, and management of numerous major real estate projects throughout the Commonwealth.
In addition to his role within Saul Ewing, Aichele serves as adjunct professor at the Temple University School of a Law, and regularly lectures on real estate-related topics for the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Aichele has been the recipient of the Great Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Businessman of the Year (2009), listed among Woodward/White’s The Best Lawyers in America in Real Estate Law (2006 to present), and also listed among America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and Real Estate by Chambers USA.
Aichele is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in government, and received his J.D. from the Temple University of Law.
